Cinematic Orchestra and Bonobo at Colston Hall 31st Oct
A scintillating double bill at the Colston Hall as the Cinematic Orchestra are joined by the wonderful Bonobo for a tasty night from the world of Ninja. The Cinematic Orchestra’s recordings have always been sumptuous and lush, but it’s their ability to transform their material in the live arena which has made them stand out, stunning audiences across the UK.  Bonobo is a non-conforming DJ trashing ideas of his laid back style by dragging the laid back onto the dancefloor.

Touring to promote their finest album yet, “Ma Fleur” the Cinematic Orchestra's live show is Jason Swinscoe (Band Leader) Phil France (Double Bass), Tom Chant (Saxophone) and Luke Flowers (Drums). Joining them will be new members Nick Ramm - a pianist from London who has played with Matthew Herbert amongst many others - and guitarist Stuart McCallum, whose subtle, six string antics have changed the dynamics of TCO's sound on their new record.

Bonobo has built his DJ style, refusing to conform to the preconceived ideas of a laid back style, and aiming headlong for the dance floor, with a heavy mixture of hip hop, weighty jazz, broken beats, Latin, funk, and soul, with the occasional cheeky bit of psyche rock and drum and bass thrown in. Progress culminating in Ninja Tune asking him to put together a Solid Steel mix album.

Tickets are £15 from the Colston Hall box office.
